Your commitment to 100% Visiting Teaching.

Sisters,

I sincerely hope you are all doing well! I am so excited for your commitment to 100% visiting teaching. If you have not heard yet, Bishop has suggested that we let all of you choose which month you will commit to 100% visiting teaching. At the upper right corner is a poll... you may choose more than one month if multiple months work better for you. The poll will be open until Thursday night.

If you are new in our ward, we will do our best to add you to our visiting teaching list within the next week.

We each have a responsibility to help strengthen each other - to lend a hand of support and love. I encourage all of you to do a little more, try a little harder in your VT efforts, and I promise the Lord will bless you.

Lesson: Ch. 23, "The Prophet Joseph Smith"

Teaching: Sis. Hall

• TOMORROW, FRIDAY, December 6th "White Out" Temple Session/Christmas Gathering for all adults @ 4:00 PM session. Treats to follow at Bishop's home (Adults only). 
• There is a baptism THIS Saturday for the beautiful Si'i (Jane) Latu, at 10 AM at our old Stake Center!! It is a very exciting event, so please come and show Si'i your love and support. If you can bring some brownies or cookies, please let us know!
• Ward Christmas Party THIS SATURDAY, Dec. 7th from 6-8pm at our building. Dinner will be provided, come enjoy some delicious food and time with friends. Santa will drop by for a visit, and there will also be a Nativity program.
• First Presidency Christmas Devotional will be broadcast THIS Sunday, Dec. 8th @ 6PM!
• STAKE NATIVITY PROGRAM will be held December 12th - 14th at the Chapel on the east side of Higley Road, just South of Ray road. Admission is FREE, please invite your family, neighbors, and friends! More information can be found at www.higleynativity.blogspot.com.
• Thursday, Dec. 19th - RS game night and cookie exchange! 8-10pm at our building, come and have some fun!
• It is that time of year for tithing settlement! Make sure you schedule a time for your family - sign up sheets are outside of Bishop's office.

• SISTER TEMPLE TRIP Saturday, Nov. 23rd - we will be attending the 7:30AM session, if you would like to carpool come to Trisha Wilkin's home at 6:30AM (we will be meeting behind her house in the dirt lot).
• Friday, December 6th "White Out" Temple Session/Christmas Gathering for all adults @ 4pm, at the temple (this time could possibly change, we will notify you if it is any different).
• Ward Christmas Party! Saturday, Dec. 7th from 6-9pm at our building. Dinner will be provided, come enjoy some delicious food and time with friends. Santa will drop by for a visit, and there will also be a Nativity program.
• Thursday, Dec. 19th - RS game night and cookie exchange! 8-10pm at our building, come and have some fun!

• We are in need of a few more recipes for the Missionary Cookbook that is being made. Recipes need to be easy to make, and under 5 ingredients (ingredients missionaries would normally have available). If you have a recipe you would like us to submit, please e-mail us at gatewaywardrs@gmail.com and we will make sure it gets submitted. Deadline is Sunday, November 24th!

• Are you on Facebook? So are we! Our secret RS group for our ward is called "Gateway Married Student Ward... Holla!" Yes, holla, not to be confused with hola which means hello in Spanish. It is a secret group, so if you cannot find it - then feel free to friend anyone from the RS Presidency/Trisha Wilkins for an invite :) It's a great way for all of us to stay connected throughout the week.

Just a couple of quick announcements!

Hello Dearest Sisters!

Apologies for the unusual announcement post. There are a few upcoming events we want to make sure all are aware of.

• STAKE CONFERENCE THIS WEEKEND! Saturday, October 19th at 6pm is the Adult Session at the Frye Road building. Sunday, October 20th - 7am is the Priesthood leadership session and the General Stake Conference Session at 1pm, both at the Frye Road building.
• Stake Preparedness Fair this upcoming Saturday, October 20th from 7-10am at the Stake Center. Breakfast will be served at 7am.
• There is a RS Training Meeting tomorrow (Thursday), from 6pm-8pm. Dinner and nursery will be provided! [This pertains to all sisters serving in a RS calling].
• Our SUPER SATURDAY activity will be held on Saturday, November 2nd! It is going to be FANTASTIC! Please make sure to turn in all of your money to Janessa, ASAP. If you need to make the payment later, or need help with making the payment, please contact the RS Presidency. We want to make sure everyone can enjoy this great activity. A post with further details to come.

The trunk-or-treat activity is a great opportunity to invite friends, and neighbors!

 

Lastly, we would like to ask all ward members to pray for missionary experiences so we can help those around us find happiness in this wonderful gospel! The missionaries need our help to spread the word... remember, EVERY MEMBER A MISSIONARY! So let's spread the gospel cheer to our neighbors and community.

New Announcements:

• GAME NIGHT! Wednesday, September 19th at 8:30 pm in our RS room. Bring a treat to share if you'd like!
• PRIMARY PROGRAM, Sunday, September 22nd! Please help your kiddos learn their parts.
• Book Club meeting to discuss, UNBROKEN, on Wednesday, September 25th, 8:30 pm in our RS room. See the book club tab above for more info. 
• General Relief Society Broadcast - Saturday, September 28th at 5:00 pm at the chapel on Frye & Recker (our building). Please be seated by 4:45 pm, yummy refreshments will be served following the broadcast! 
• General Conference will be held October 5th-6th! We will be holding a RS potluck (kiddos too) on the 5th at 5:00 pm. Sign up sheets for the potluck are in the RS binders being passed on Sunday.
• Ward Fast Sunday - October 13th.

• Visiting Teaching provides many opportunities to serve, meet new sisters, and make friends!

Free Items:

• If you are having problems with roaches, you can call the city to come spray the manhole in front of your house at (480) 644-3550.
• The ASU Poly Library has culture passes that allow 2 admissions to a variety of museums/parks/zoos. You need your sun card to check them out. They are good for 7 days, but the library has a limited number of each so plan accordingly.
